Rejoinder to Adegboruwa's Rant

I read with disdain Ebun-ola Adegboruwa's rant titled "Osinbajo as Acting President: Nigerians Beware!" How could a so called pastor vomit such unguided utterance knowing full well that words can unite or ignite us at a time when those who love the soul of our nation are praying for all round healing.

Sadly, many have taken the opportunity of unverified rumours to push pen and paper with jargons while others open their mouths to spew venom unguarded but for me, pedigree determines what I believe. Integrity motivates me.

It was a proven track record of integriry that led me to support the candidacy of the Acting President. For those who did for unjust gains, sorry to be disappointed. As someone rightly said, "E no go chop and the palava be say e no go allow person wey wan chop to chop!"

I voted for the APC ticket not because I expected super-human delivery and free windfall without due diligence but because I knew it was the best brand of all we were offered. When I did, I made a conscious declaration that my weight and the weight of other well meaning Nigerians behind them will help them beat corruption (which has become endemic in our society) and position them on a path of success to better the lot of Nigerians.

Rather than waste time dissecting the claims made by Ebun-ola Adegboruwa, a pastor who claims to be a human rights advocate, let's consider the facts that make him unqualified to make such claims.

Ebun Adegboruwa it was who stood in the place of a prophet or magician to declare that President Buhari was so sick that he can no longer discharge the functions of his office. This was well ahead of his vacation. According to this lawyer who was sacked from the service of Erudite Gani Fawehinmi's chambers because he duped a client, "...we have on our hands, another Yaradua scenario and that we cannot allow this to continue." He called on "the National Assembly and all Nigerians to rise and rescue the nation."

How would a real lawyer put forward such prayers knowig that we have a constitution which as amended locates power in the Vice President in the absence of the President.

This so called pastor took up legal battle for a man who has been a cankerworm in the fabric of our economic development and is currently wanted for fraud committed under the erstwhile government that he is so quick to praise as being better.

He has asked us not to be "...bamboozled with the recent utterances and actions of the Acting President, all of which are capable of sending us into some slumber, only to then wake up in another quagmire." This is at best fallacious - appeal to probability, base rate and misleading vividness!

The Ag. Presido knows his onions and will measure well no matter the strictest yardstick we use. He is human and humane and has a proven record of service delivery beyond the shores of our nation.

There is a cabal - foreign and local conspiracy to impoverish Nigeria and Nigerians, which the President and Acting President have been warring against and it is the responsibility of all of us to fight the cabal to ensure our leaders' integrity is not swallowed by the myopia inflicted on us by the likes of Adegboruwa whose moral and national consciousness is presently on recess.
